| What type of supervision do you provide? All activities both on and off the field are supervised by staff members for their entire stay at camp. We have 24 hour supervision. What should the campers bring? Soccer gear, sleeping bag, hiking shoes, swim suit, sundries. A more detailed list will be sent out with your confirmation. Does my child need spending money? The camp store is open daily and some campers may want to purchase a snack or sweatshirt. Campers make a deposit at check-in and then can draw on their account throughout the week. An average deposit is $15-$20. On Friday, the camper picks up remaining deposit from the camp store. We prefer that campers do not keep money in their cabin as we cannot be responsible for lost money. In addition to a snack bar, we also sell camp hooded camp sweatshirts ($20.00 youth sizes and $24.00 for adult sizes) What type of campers attend the Residence camp? Our Residence camps are designed for serious, dedicated youth players with the desire to improve. We will work hard everyday to strenghthen skills, introduce new techniques and gain technical awareness. Teams will train together. Players are grouped by age and skill level for their training and games. What do campers do in their free time? The campers day is fullly scheduled. When they are not involved in a soccer session, they will be doing planned hikes with the environmental leaders on camp Waskowitz 372-acre site, swim sessions, volleyball, soccer videos and resting if needed. In the evenings after world cup soccer, there will be planned guest speakers, soccer videos, campfires and more. What if my child becomes homesick? If your child becomes homesick, we refrain from calling home right away as that usually makes the problem worse. We have an excellent staff (many of which are parents and teachers) to help your child work through their feelings. If the feelings persist, a counselor would contact you to discuss how you would like us to help your child. What if my child wets the bed while at camp? If we have written instructions to wake up your child at certain times during the night we will follow your instructions. If there is a soiled bed, the camper is to let the counselor know in private. While the camper is at a soccer session the bedding and clothes will be washed/dried and back on the bed before the campers are back from their session. The camper will feel safe, not embarrassed. Will my child be able to take his/her medications while at camp? Yes, all medications, over the counter and prescription with written instructions, are given to our trainer at check in. The trainer will dispense the medication per your written instructions. How or when do you discipline the campers? We do have consequences for inappropriate behavior which will be fairly matched with the action in question, the severity and the number of offenses. Possible consequences will be the loss of privileges, removal from activities and/or completing specific tasks at the camp. Parents will be called to pick up a camper if the camper's behavior is not safe for camper's or staff. The decision to send a camper home will be part of the discipline process. No tuition refund will be given if a camper is sent home for disciplinary reasons. Can parents and coaches come to watch? All sessions are open and we encourage parents and coaches to attend. Do you provide evaluations for the campers? Each Residence camper will receive written evaluation from his/her coach indicating strengths and weaknesses in his/her game. This will provide valuable direction for your improvement after camp. Will there be goalkeeper training? Yes, Jeff Koch, the goalkeeper coach of Seattle University Men's soccer program will direct this aspect of the Residence camp. Consistently producing All-Americans and Goal Keeper of the tournament at the National Finals, Jeff will take your goalkeeping skills and on-field decision making to a higher level.
